In the old days, Thai mainly lived along canals and rivers. Noodle sellers would paddle their boat to sell the noodle. Imagine passing a big bowl of noodle soup from the boat to the hungry customers stooping from the dock. A chance of spilling the hot soup is pretty high. 以前，泰国人都喜欢住在江边，河边，船上粿条应运而生，卖船上粿条者，用小型船把煮粿条的锅碗瓢盆置在船上，用桨划船到水上社区去卖。因遞送时，从小船送到吃客手里，因大碗经常翻倒，把汤烫到吃客的手，因为大碗遞送不易，所以纷纷改用小碗，而汤也少放，盖过粿条即可。後来成为习惯，虽然大部份的船上粿条已经搬到陆地上，其传统的小碗，一直传承下来，这就是小碗的魅力。在胜利纪念碑地区的船上粿条摊，算是个集中点，一家连一家。他们的料理，味道都已调好，不必添加佐料。这里的价钱，虽然会比其他地区贵一点，但您有更多的选择，多试几家，店有用电风扇的，有空调的，也有河边自然风的。林林总总，任君挑选。
