It is the only temple in Bangkok which is situated on a mount. On top is Barombanpot or a golden chedi on a man-made mountain at the highest spot of the temple. Thai people, therefore, often call this place Wat Phu Khao Thong (Golden Mount). But the official name of this temple is Wat Saket. This temple has been here since the beginning of Rattanakosin. Every November, the temple holds the most bustling temple fair. Buddhists and tourists can pay respect to Buddha’s relic brought from Kapilavastu during King Rama V’s reign. The opening time is 7 AM – 12 AM. The temple fair is usually held during the Loy Krathong Day period. An original temple fair in a big city is such a rare sight now. 金山寺非常特出，是唯一修建在曼谷市中心的一个小山丘上的佛寺，山丘上最高点建有一座佛塔。称为(玻隆班菩)。因此，曼谷都叫金山寺。实际上，他的正式名字是Wat Saket。是一座建于拉达纳哥信时期前的古老佛寺。他最大的魅力是常年胜会。每年11月份最热闹。开放泰国佛教信徒，来参拜拉玛五世时期，从“迦毗罗卫城”恭请回来供奉的“佛祖舍利子”。开放时间: 07.00-24.00。

同时，每年11月份，经常会与水灯节同月份，可以看到寺内非常热闹，平时，人们都喜欢上金山寺，一边拜佛，一边参观曼谷市的市景。
