STORY OF MON IN PATHUMTHANI

Enjoy local way of life along the river banks of Chao Phraya river. Pay visit to Wat Bot, built by ethnic Mon minority from Pegu migrated to settle in the area, situated an ancient Mon-style Buddha image and other sacred objects. Take a boat trip to Koh Kred – an island in Chao Phraya River near Bangkok – famous for pottery making with scenic view of temples, houses and lifestyle along the river. On return, stop by Wat Ku, ancient temple known as the location where King Rama V’s consort passed away during boat trip to Ayuthaya.

Depart for Wat Bot, constructed by Mon ethnic migrated from Hongsawadi town, Myanmar.

10.30 a.m.

Take you to travel to Leng Nei Temple, Bang Bua Thong, Chinese temple that brought
Buddhist art to the Ming Ching Dynasty As a guideline for beautiful construction

12.30 a.m.

Arrive Koh Kret, the community of Mon ethnics talented in making pottery products, which is one of the most famous things to see on Koh Kret. Pottery making technique of the Mons in Koh Kret has passed from generations to generations since the settlement in this community.
There are a number of pottery villages and shops where visitors can visit and buy souvenirs along the route. Plenty of snacks, foods, drinks, and souvenirs are available during the walk.

Arrive Wat Ku, a stunning temple with a tragic story. One of the buildings was built in commemoration of King Rama V’s Queen Sunandha who passed away tragically.
