The complex used to be an old port of East Asiatique Company owned by a Dutch. This export company shipped goods from Asia to Europe in the reign of King Rama V. And the main export was teak wood. One hundred years passed by, the same old warehouse structure remains but now it functions as the first large-scale shopping complex on the riverbank. Asiatique the Riverfront is a shopping center with selected restaurants. There are entertainments and more than 1,000 shops. And if you are interested in the history, you can admire the classic architecture like WWII bunker, ancient tram track, old warehouse, etc. For an aerial view of Bangkok, ride on a giant ferris wheel to witness the panoramic Chao Phraya river.
